I love bees.

As a child I would gentle cup them in my hands and bring them into the house to show my parents, much to their erm… delight.

Incredible little beasts they play a vital part in ensuring our planet maintains an equlibrium. Without these voracious pollinators who knows where our world we might end up?

Better still, thanks to Bees for Development beekeeping is providing a way for hundreds of people to earn an income, providing disability inclusive training for men, women and youth from Uganda and Ghana.

Addressing social inclusion, encouraging protection of the environment, good nutrition and medicine, it really is a no brainer for illume to provide 1% of our annual revenue to this fabulous cause.

Our donation for 2026 will support the year-long training of eight beekeepers in hive making, apiary set-up, honey harvesting, and processing, helping them develop the full range of skills needed to run successful, sustainable beekeeping enterprises.
